Interface

This chapter describes the overall interface of Animate so that you can first get an understanding of where everything is before you begin drawing.

Gallery

Upon opening the app for the first time you will see the Gallery on iPad and the Workspace on desktop.

On iPad, you can click the "+" button in the top right corner of the Gallery to create a new project. And on desktop, you can click the same button in the top left corner of the Workspace.

This will bring up the new project alert where you can choose the animation name, dimensions, and frame rate.

Workspace

Once you've created a project you'll be prompted with the main animation Workspace.

At the top you'll find the Navigation Bar which contains the app settings, filters, symbol library, scene manager, and more.

On the left side is the Toolbar, which contains all buttons for interacting with the canvas, and canvas.

The Timeline is at the bottom. It contains Tracks, where each track contains animation frames. You can add and select frames with the buttons on the right side of the timeline.
