Canvas and Preferences
Under the Canvas and Preferences settings you'll have options for changing the canvas and app UI to fix your needs.
The Canvas view show the number of layers currently on the canvas as well as the color space, and also comes with a checkbox for setting the transparent background, and buttons for flipping the canvas and resetting its rotation.
The Preferences view contains options for toggling different UI settings.

Transparent Background
This setting determines whether the canvas uses a white background or a transparent background (represented by the alternative gray/white checkerboard pattern).
Stylus Only and Force Enabled
Whether or not you can draw and interact with the canvas using your finger. If checked, then only a 3rd party stylus or the Apple Pencil can be used to make marks on the canvas.
When using a stylus, the force enabled setting determines whether or not pressing harder/softer with the stylus will affect the size, flow, and opacity of the brush.
Left Hand Orientation
Whether or not the toolbar sits on the left or right side of the screen. Used for those who are left- or right- handed to create a more comfortable drawing experience.
Show Drawing Indicator
Whether or not a small icon will appear wherever you tap/draw on the canvas. This helps to show the size of the current brush you are using so you'll always know where your next mark is going to be.
